WooliesGO

Woolworths delivery drivers were using an technically outdated and inefficient Windows PDA supplied to every driver by Woolworths. Problems included overall poor UX, technical issues such as responsiveness and unexpected crashes, with many choosing to use paper schedules over the device. It was also considered there was a lack of care for the device due to ownership sitting with Woolworths and not the driver.

Outware was tasked to provide an app solution for drivers to download on their own devices that would improve usability and include up-to-date technical advancements for navigation and tracking.

Pre-Development Sprint

Part 1. 2 Day Workshop

A Pre-Development Sprint kicked of the project which starts with a 2 day workshop influenced by a Google Ventures.
Attendees included 5 colleagues from Outware of which I represented UX and Design, 7 representatives from different areas of business in Woolworths, and 2 intermittent focus groups.

Areas covered:
• Unpacking and understand, identifying problems/opportunities and measurable outcomes
• Identify Users – proto-personas, mapping out key user journeys, review current PDA system
• Ideation and Prioritisation – Blue sky feature wall with relative prioritisation to identify high priority items in each epic.
• User interviews – Drivers and CSA
• Wireframe ideation – 2 teams sketched potential wireframe solutions for the app.
• Design Review – Group review of the wireframe output from the 2 teams. Alignment with the feature priorities for MVP.
