Rubix Racing is an algorithmic pricing engine built to streamline trading operations and optimise smart bet pricing to increase revenue for Tabcorp.
Engaged by Sydney-based Geronimo on a six-month contract as an in-house UX/UI Designer, I audited the existing platform and led the redesign of a new, more intuitive version aligned to business goals and user needs.
The redesign focused on reducing cognitive load during long trading sessions, improving system responsiveness, and increasing visibility of critical information to better support fast, high-stakes decision-making.

A one-week discovery phase was conducted onsite at Tabcorp’s trading offices, bringing together Geronimo’s Creative Director, Operations team, and myself, alongside Tabcorp Racing Product Analysts, Developers, Traders, and Project Managers.
We aligned on product objectives, defined core problems and pain points, and clarified timelines and delivery expectations. This evolved into deeper discussions around usability challenges, inspiration, and blue-sky feature exploration.
One-on-one trader interviews and workflow shadowing provided critical insights, informing collaborative co-design sessions that began shaping the vision for the redesigned platform.
Initial wireframe concepts were developed into interactive prototypes and tested with six traders over a two-week user testing program. With many foundational insights established during discovery, the primary objective was to validate usability improvements and assess the visual clarity of the redesigned interface compared to the existing platform.
We evaluated whether the proposed solutions addressed identified pain points and uncovered further opportunities to enhance an interface used intensively for long trading sessions, often centred around a single screen.
New features tested included:
During the final two months of the contract, the focus shifted to design delivery and developer handover. The goal was to create a scalable foundation that Tabcorp could continue to evolve and iterate beyond the engagement.
Working within an Agile sprint framework, I delivered defined styles, reusable components, and documented interaction behaviours to support efficient development.
This phase culminated in 48 detailed screen designs spanning login, market views, live reports, multi-view functionality, alerts, and user account management.
